The New Chinese-built Steamer "lily."—On Saturday Captain Endicott's new steamer, the Lily, was launched from Mr. J. C. Cowper's dock on Dane's Island, Whampoa. The launch was a most successful one, the vessel gliding off the ways in beautiful style into the large dock, through which she rushed in a direct line into the river, and was then gradually brought up by a hawser. Her length of keel is 162 feet; on deck 179 ; with 22 feet beim; her builder's measurement being 411 tons.— Friend of China, April 23. This (adds the above journal) is the first of a series of steamers that are destined at no distant period to carry on the coasting trade of China.
