Jeśli można to poproszę o podanie dat wodowania podanych poniżej jednostek typu"Baluchi"/TB-1 i jaki posiadały napęd:
TB-1 Baluchi wod. 1888
TB-2 Kahren wod. 24.09.1888
TB-3 Pathan wod. 23.10.1888
TB-4 Mahratta wod. 1889
TB-5 Sikh wod. 1889
TB-6 Rajput wod. 1889
TB-7 Gurkha wod. 1888.
Jak było z nazwami tych okrętów?
Wpierw było oznaczenie numeryczne, czy nazwy jednostek?
TB-1,2, 3 zbudowano w st.Thornycroft, TB-4,5,6 w stoczniw White, TB-7 zbudowano w st. Hanne ,Donald & Wilson?

Stocznia: wg Colledge'a TB7 zbudowano u J. McArthur & Co. (również w Paisley), ale w dokładniejszej The Sail and Steam Navy List: All the Ships of the Royal Navy 1815-1889 (Lyon & Winfield) jest "Hanna, Donald & Wilson design and built". Owa stocznia zbudowała wcześniej jeden malutki torpedowiec dla RN (TB15 w 1879) i dwa dla Grecji (Δήλος i Σαπφώ, zwodowane 1.8.1878*).

Nie mam jednak podstaw, by potwierdzić jakąś dalej idącą analogię.

The Mechanics' magazine and journal of engineering, agricultural ..., Band 79
1863
HENLEY'S INDIAN TELEGRAPH.

The Times states that the shi] I <...

Indian telegraph cablo from Mr. tory at North Woolwich is now in a< I The "Marian Moore," carrying 170 10 cable, left the Downs a few days ago f and is expected toarrivo at her dettiaat the end of November. The sailing Bhips "Assayo" and "Kirkham," moored alongside tlie works, are now receiving their cargoes of the wire, which is being rapidly coiled in the holds of both ships simultaneously by steam machinery constantly at work. The former vessel will carry about 360 miles, and the latter about 200 miles. The "Assaye" is well known at Woolwich, where she arrived fast year in companylwith the sister ship, the " Punjab," at that timo both paddle-wheel Bteamers. They were removed from Woolwich to the Victoria Docks, and were sold to a Liverpool firm, sinco which time they have both been ship-rigged and converted into sailing ships. Both are exceedingly fast sailers, and what is termed "clipper ships." Although fitted with powerful engines they performed the voyage under sail, at the rate (it is stated) of upwards of 10 knots per hour, and made the voyage homo in 75 days. They are both constructed throughout of teakwood. The "Kirkham" is an iron vessel, paintedwhite. The cable is coiled in largewater-tight tanks, three on board each ship, which will be kept full of water throughout the voyage to Bombay. They are expected to sail from Woolwich tho second week in September, and will be fully equipped with all appliances for paying out the cable at sea. The "Tweed" Gate the "Punjab") and the "Cospatrick" will follow tho two vessels, now alongside, and will take in 350 miles and 200 miles respectively. The latter-named ships aro being fitted at Poplar by Messrs. Wigram for the reception of the cable, under tho superintendence of Captain Dicey. The Charente," a screw steamer of about 600 tons, is being fitted by tho above-named firm for permanent employment on the lino, and will be supplied with all requisites for repairing tho cable, should any accident arise hereafter from ships' anchors, or any casualties to which tho wire must be subjected by exposure. Tho "Charente" will take out a small quantity of cable in addition to her coals. She will be commanded by Lieutenant Stifle, an experienced officer of the Indian Navy, who has rocently surveyed the Persian Gulf specially with regard to this important undertaking. The total longth of cable taken out for this line will amount to 1,250 miles, and will weigh upwards of 5,000 tons, being an excess of 2,000 tons over that of tho Red Sea, Malta, and Alexandria, or tho Atlantic. Tho wire alone of the present cable weighs 1,000 tons. The operations, which are under the direction of Lieutenant-Colonel Stewart, Royal Engineers, are expected to bo completed by the month of February next, when it is hoped that London and Calcutta will bo in telegraphic communication, by which a correspondence may bo conveyed from one hemisphere to the other in the course of a very few hours. Sir Charles Bright and Mr. Latimer Clark, the consulting engineers, superintending the manufacture of the cable, are attended by a competent and effective staff of electricians at Woolwich, who supervise and test the whole of tho work as it progresses. Tho "Gammelholm," a Danish storeship, arrived and moored off Mr. Henley's works at Woolwich on Saturday morning, preparatory to taking in a telegraphic cable for the Danish Government, which will weigh upwards of 15 tons per mile. Twentyfive miles of the electric wire have also been recently despatched from the same factory to Christiana for tho Norwegian Government.
